In acute injuries it may be necessary to use a different tape that increases the stability and reduces movement.

Massage
The myofascia or fascia is a tissue that separates and contains every muscle of the body. Myofascial release is a very effective hands on method of applying gentle sustained pressure to the effected area to relieve pain and enable movement. It restores flexibility of your muscles, improves blood flow to the area and aids lymphatic circulation. We will go over how you can apply this to self manage your symptoms.
Acupuncture
Acupuncture originates from Chinese Medicine. Western Medicine attributes the benefits of acupuncture to the effect on the blood flow and fascial connections. Fascia is beneath the skin and connects, separates, encloses and stabilizes organs muscles and other soft tissues of the body.
Acupuncture uses very fine needles to stimulate blood flow and release the tension in the fascia. Through understanding the fascial connections along the body the needles can release tension in more than one dimension. Acupuncture can provide long lasting pain reduction and enhanced flexibility to facilitate your rehabilitation.
Manipulation
Manipulations are where the physiotherapist uses there hands to physically affect the joint. It involves applying pressure through the joint and can often give the sensation of a click. It can be a great way to relieve pain and reduce joint stiffness to enable you to move more freely.
Patients are screened to make sure that this is safe technique suitable for the individual. Manipulations are not suitable for everyone and many other techniques can be used instead.
Cupping
Cupping therapay is where cups are applied onto the skin and a suction is
created pulling the skin and fascia up. The cups can be moved or can be kept in the one position. Suction strength applied can be weak, moderate or strong.
The suction loosens the fascia around the muscle and encourages blood flow. If the blood flow has been stagnant in the area treated it can appear bruised at the surface. Once normal blood flow is restrored there will be no marking in subsequent treatment.
Particularly beneficial for long standing conditions and tight musles.
